April 1, 2006 The Friendly Skies
April 5, 2006
I have a brand new appreciation for people who fly from coast to coast. I flew from Los Angeles CA to Hartford, CT. I don’t know how many miles it is but I do know it is a long day.

I also am coming to appreciate more and more the men and women who serve as flight attendants. I wonder if they ever get tired of the work–the little pre- flight speech, the antsy people who are late for connections, the people who ignore them when they’re trying to make the flight a little nicer and safer.

Flying over, and seeing, the Rocky Mountains is majestic…I do wonder what God thinks when he peeks and sees it all (yeah, I know…”not bad for 6 days!).

I also think I know why Pope John Paul used used to kiss the ground whenever he landed somewhere! The friendly skies are nice but terra firma is more my speed.
